Advocacy Alert

Representative Chatfield has confirmed in a letter to constituents that although he worked “exceedingly hard to strike a balance with this legislation (HB 5232), …I have been unable to adequately satisfy many of the concerns of my constituents.” He has decided to “indefinitely suspend consideration of HB 5232 and the conversation of reform to the Michigan Historic Preservation Act.”

BYOHH Tours

Bring Your Own Hard Hat (BYOHH) Tours were first established in 2009 to provide networking and educational opportunities for MHPN/Historic Resource Council (HRC) level members. These events have also been a conduit for membership drives and fundraising opportunities. Additionally, they:

  • Can be scaled to fit any project or targeted audience
  • Provide an opportunity for project teams to market and showcase their work – even before it is finished
  • Can occur at multiple times during the project to highlight different aspects

Do you know of a preservation project that others may be interested in seeing prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony? Please contact info@mhpn.org or call 517-371-8080 for more information and discussion!
