2017 MHPN Conference Registration 2017 MHPN Conference Registration IMPORTANT REGISTRATION DETAILSCan’t Attend the Conference? Consider making a gift to support the MHPN’s work! Two Inexpensive Ways to Attend: First, the MHPN has a number of scholarships for students, professionals, tradespeople, and others. Registration and overnight costs are covered. By 5:00 PM on April 8, submit a letter of interest, description of your preservation interests, and letter of recommendation to email@example.com. Second, VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED. Volunteers receive a 90% discount on registration. Contact VolunteerMHPN@gmail.com to start the process. Learn more about both at www.mhpn.org. Overnight Accommodations: The conference hotel is The Perry Hotel in downtown Petoskey, 1.4 miles from headquarters at North Central Michigan College. Participants make reservations by calling 800-737-1899 or 231-347-4000 and asking for the “MHPN Conference Rate;” do not use on-line registration. The rate is $109 per night + 6% state tax and 5% local assessment; this discount does not include other promotions or breakfast vouchers. Rooms include a variety of one- and two-bed configurations of king, queen, and some double beds; 1-2 guests is standard, with an additional charge of $20/night, per guest, up to 4. Rooms are available the nights of Tuesday, May 16 – Saturday, May 20. Make your reservation by 5:00 PM on Monday, April 3; based on room availability, the hotel may offer the discounted rate past the cut-off. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted; reservations are held with a credit card. Cancellation without penalty is 48 hours prior to arrival. Check-in is 3:00 PM; check-out is 11:00 AM. Amenities include complimentary on-site parking, luggage storage, Wi-Fi, exercise room, and more; see www.staffords.com/perry-hotel/. If exploring other accommodations, visit the Petoskey websites provided on page 20. By staying at the conference hotel, however, the MHPN earns complimentary rooms for staff. See PDF List for Alternate Overnight Locations “Make it an Emmet County Weekend”: Emmet County is rich with cultural activities, shops, restaurants, and historic resources. Stay the weekend! The hotel conference rate is good through Sunday check-out! Guest Attire: Business casual is appropriate for all activities, but many dress for Friday’s Awards Evening. Wear comfortable shoes for the tours; have rain gear available.
