Building Hugger, partnering with Brick + Beam Detroit as well as Preservation Detroit and the Michigan Historic Preservation Network, will be hosting a community mingle this weekend at their Eastern Market shop. There will be information on a Federal Historic Tax Credit that’s currently under threat. Reps from Brick + Beam Detroit, who offer a wide variety of resources for those renovating their homes in the city.
Building Hugger is going to showcase recent shop renovations and will provide an update on the company’s plans to open Hugs Hardware, a specialty hardware store and showroom for hard-to-find restoration items. The shop will be open for guests to visit various work stations and see the Building Hugger team in action. Owner Amy Swift will also lead a demonstration focused on the company’s window restoration work.
